Interactions between plastic deformation and precipitation in Aluminium alloys: A crystal plasticity model
نویسندگان
چکیده
This work presents a crystal plasticity model for dynamic precipitation in aluminium alloys. It takes into account both the influence of an evolving precipitate distribution on critical stress dislocation glide, and accelerating effect deformation kinetics. The precipitates behaviour is integrated constitutive law. kinetics modelled spatio-temporally using multi-class kinetic (KWN) incorporating through accelerated solute diffusion caused by production excess vacancies. applied to growth coarsening shearable pre-aged AA7075 alloy under at 150°C, which corresponds industrially relevant production. paper first explores tensile behaviour, showing that might be responsible gain uniform elongation respectively 2% strain 50 MPa case hand. development plastic heterogeneities discussed. demonstrates how spatial may develop during deformation, these correlate with heterogeneities. distributions obtained static or ageing are predicted compared each other, texture

متن کاملModelling of Precipitation Hardening in Casting Aluminium Alloys
Precipitation hardening, because it involves the hardening of the material over a prolonged time, is also called age hardening, or ageing. By the appropriate heat treatment of precipitation hardening, the strength or hardness of some heat-treatable aluminium alloys can be enhanced by the formation of nano-meter sized second-phase precipitated particles within the original phase matrix. The fine...
متن کاملAn acoustic emission study of plastic deformation in polycrystalline aluminium
Acoustic emission experiments were performed on polycrystalline and single crystal 99.990/0 aluminium while undergoing tensile deformation. It was found that acoustic emission counts as a function of grain size showed a maximum value at a particular grain size. Furthermore, the slip area associated with this particular grain size corresponded to the threshold level of detectability of single di...
متن کاملMultifunctional Alloys Obtained via a Dislocation-Free Plastic Deformation Mechanism.
We describe a group of alloys that exhibit "super" properties, such as ultralow elastic modulus, ultrahigh strength, super elasticity, and super plasticity, at room temperature and that show Elinvar and Invar behavior. These "super" properties are attributable to a dislocation-free plastic deformation mechanism. In cold-worked alloys, this mechanism forms elastic strain fields of hierarchical s...
